Many people in Thunder Bay are looking at different options for personal health. One of those is the Keto Diet. We have put a lot of work into creating a pizza option for people trying to stay in ketosis.
First off, let’s go over some basics, because, well: we care 🙂
This is the link to the Keto Thunder Bay Facebook Group. They look out for each other and answer questions and post lots of neat options. It is a great idea to engage in a forum like that to keep yourself pumped and to learn from other peoples experiences as well. Our Keto pizza is a 12″ crust made from:
- Cream Cheese
- Coconut Flour
- Garlic Salt
- Onion Powder
- Black Pepper
Our Keto Crusts, at 12″ are considered a Medium Pizza.
They are cut in 8 and have 2.19 Net Carbs per slice (this is just the crust so far, specifics are pretty important here)
THIS is an explanation of how to calculate net carbs!
Ok so we have our 2.19g of Net Carbs, then we add
Sauce (7 Net Carbs / Pizza – which is 0.87g net carbs per slice)
Cheese (3.7g Net Carbs /Pizza – which is 0.46g net carbs per slice)
Which means: 1 Pizza with sauce and cheese is: 3.59g Net Carbs per slice.
Each slice with sauce and cheese is 3.59g Net Carbs BEFORE other toppings. That means each additional topping will have its own carbs it brings to the table. Let’s make a list.
- Ground Beef = 0g!
- Sausage = 0g!
- Green Pepper = 0.27g
- Onion = 0.51g
- Mushroom =0.175g
- Jalapeno Peppers = 0.12g
- Tomatoes = 0.25g
- Black Olives = 0.13g
- Green Olives = 0.01g
- Pepperoni = 0.08g
We will be adding the rest of our toppings to this list in the next few days!
Once you know what you want, here are 3 options.
